Anita Björklund
Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy
The primary alignment in Anita Björklund’s research is paradigm development through education and praxis among occupational therapist students and occupational therapists, and how the concept “health” fits in with the occupational therapists’ practice. Moreover her research mainly concerns old and/or disabled people’s participation in societal life. Her doctoral dissertation was in Occupational Therapy and entitled “On the Structure and Contents of Occupational Therapist Paradigms - empirical studies of occupational therapy students’ and occupational therapists’ views on occupational therapy”. Current projects are “Health, the Body and Occupational Therapy - the professional view” and “Technical support for relative caregivers”. In her work she collaborates with other universities and authorities like Linköping University (Department of Behavioural and Learning Sciences), Northampton University (Division of Occupational Therapy), Swedish Institute of Assistive Technology and Employment Office in Kalmar. She is connected to the network Scientific Forum for PhD occupational therapists (FSA - the Swedish Association for Occupational Therapists), GAS - the Gothenburg Occupational Therapist Society, KI alumni (Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm) and HETOC (Health through occupation research group, Northampton University). Anita Björklund has expert assignments as a member of the editorial board for the professional journal Arbetsterapeuten, and is chairperson, faculty dean, for the Board of Education and Research Education at Jönköping University.
